Paredes was in his second year of arbitration eligibility and maintains the possibility of declaring himself a free agent at the end of the 2027 season, according to the rules of the system. The 26-year-old player comes from an outstanding performance in the 2025 campaign, in which he was selected to the All-Star Game after recording an average of .254, with 20 home runs, 53 RBIs, 53 runs scored and an OPS of .809 in 102 games with the Texan team. Paredes has shown offensive consistency in recent seasons, connecting 20 or more home runs in three of the last four campaigns, as well as achieving consecutive calls to the Mid-Season Classic in 2024 and 2025, consolidating himself as a key piece in Houston’s infield.
