COOPMIREX recognizes the jurist and cooperative member Algenis Chávez Reyes

Santo Domingo. – The Savings, Credit and Multiple Services Cooperative of the Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (COOPMIREX) presented a recognition to the jurist and cooperative member Algenis Chávez Reyes for his contributions to the solidarity economy entity in the consolidation process carried out from its foundation to the present. The President of the Board of Directors of COOPMIREX; Elvis Joaquín Acevedo and the Business Manager; Alexander Nova Cruz presented the recognition to Chávez, as part of the protocol activities of the III Ordinary General Assembly 2025 of the cooperative entity, held in the Convention Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX). Within the framework of the event, in addition to Chávez Reyes, the president of the National Insurance Cooperative (COOPSEGUROS), Manuel Gutiérrez Rosario, the worldwide vice president of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), and the Entrepreneur Pedro Molina were recognized.

Algenis Chávez expressed his commitment to contribute to the consolidation and strengthening of the national cooperative sector, which he said makes a significant contribution to the development of Dominicans. Chávez expressed his gratitude to the COOPMIREX authorities while highlighting the maturity and development achieved by the solidarity economy entity since its formation.


About Algenis Chávez

Chávez holds a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), and is currently pursuing master’s degrees in Business Administration (MBA-TECH) and Cooperative Business Administration at the Spanish university Nebrija and the Confederation of Cooperatives of the Caribbean, Central and South America (CCC-CA), based in Costa Rica. He has developed various national and international studies aimed at acquiring knowledge about the evolution and development process of the cooperative movement in the country and the region. He currently serves as general manager of the Cooperativa de Los Trabajadores de la Salud e Instituciones Afines (COOPNASALUD), he is also a teacher, lecturer and project advisor.
