Santo Domingo. The Chamber of Deputies approved this Wednesday the modifications introduced by the Senate to the bill that creates the National Alert for the Search of Missing Persons in the Dominican Republic (Alerts RD), leaving the initiative ready for its promulgation by the Executive Branch. The new legislation aims to establish an immediate response mechanism at the national level for the location, assistance, and protection of people reported as missing, strengthening coordination between authorities and citizens in these cases. The project contemplates the creation of different types of alerts according to the characteristics of the missing person. These include the Amber Alert, aimed at the search for children and adolescents; the Silver Alert, for older adults; the Blue Alert, focused on people with disabilities; and the Pink Alert, aimed at missing women in contexts of violence or human trafficking.
