In response, EDENORTE issued a statement confirming that it held a meeting with local authorities and community leaders to address the electrical situation in the area. In that meeting, Congressman José Luis Rodríguez also participated, who has supported the initiative along with Senator Romero. The company reported that it has already ordered the manufacture of a 34.5/12.5 kV, 10-14 MVA power transformer, as well as the other technical equipment necessary for the installation. Currently, the substation is in the planning and design phase, and its construction will depend on the availability of land, which will be provided by the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI). Once the land is obtained, EDENORTE estimates a calendar year for the substation to become operational. Senator Franklin Romero welcomed the announcement and stated that he will constantly monitor the necessary processes for the execution of the project, which, according to him, will bring significant improvements in the quality of life of the residents of Bajo Yuna.“Esa es parte de nuestra función como senador: gestionar y fiscalizar las obras que se construyen o que se vayan a construir en nuestra provincia Duarte”, concluyó Romero.
