Eduardo Martínez suggests Welinton Grullón to direct the ITLA, after the dismissal of Rafael Félix

Santo Domingo.- Following the dismissal of the rector of the Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA), Rafael Félix García, the communicator Eduardo Martínez recommended to the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, to consider the leader and official Welinton Grullón as an option to assume the direction of that academic institution. Martínez’s suggestion is based on the strategic value that Grullón represents within the government team, according to the effective work he has been doing at Monte de Piedad. Highlighting that in Grullón’s management, a transformation in the institution has been evidenced, focusing on efficiency, transparency, and financial growth, achieving a significant increase in income and placement of pawn loans, a historical record in non-auctioned loans and important contributions to the public treasury through auctions, positioning Monte de Piedad as a more modern entity with greater social impact.

Therefore, given the alleged findings presented by a major media outlet in the country, in relation to the recently dismissed administration, the Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA) requires that whoever assumes the administration of the academic center, has academic and professional endorsement and, in turn, notable experience in the management of public affairs, which undoubtedly Wellinton Grullón possesses.
