Los Angeles .- Federal authorities investigating the death of actress Hayden Panettiere have focused their inquiries on Los Angeles (California) and the possibility that the artist obtained prescription pills from a local dealer, as reported this Monday by the Los Angeles Times.
Investigators, including agents from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), questioned several people about the possibility that the actress had ingested counterfeit oxycodone before passing away at the apartment of her boyfriend, actor Brian Hickerson, in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 16, according to sources cited by the newspaper.
The causes of death are pending further investigation. Authorities ruled out signs of violence.
According to information published by People magazine, during the 911 call, staff can be heard talking about an “overdose” and “cardiac arrest”.
Hickerson and his brother were at the South Carolina residence when authorities declared the actress dead.

The boyfriend handed investigators a bag of medication, according to authorities cited by the Los Angeles newspaper.
Panettiere lived in Los Angeles, but Hickerson is a native of Greenville, a place the actress visited constantly.
The actress spoke openly about her personal struggles from childhood to adulthood in her memoir titled ‘This Is Me: A Reckoning’, published in May.
