Manny Machado and Austin Wells obtained the Dominican ID for the first time
Santo Domingo. – The Central Electoral Board (JCE) held a special data capture and immediate delivery of the new ID card to the members of the Dominican Republic’s national team for the World Baseball Classic before the players left for their sporting commitment to represent the Dominican Republic outside the country.
For three days, JCE staff was at the hotel where the Dominican team was staying, first capturing biometric and personal data, and this Wednesday, the identity document was delivered to the players and also to the technical team that accompanies the Dominican team.
The day was led by the president of the JCE, Román Andrés Jáquez Liranzo, the full member Rafael Armando Vallejo Santelises and the director of Communications, Suedi León Jiménez.
With this initiative, the JCE continues with its schedule of progressive, controlled and limited renewal, which has already reached figures from the Cooperstown Hall of Fame (Juan Marichal, Pedro Martínez, Vladimir Guerrero and David Ortiz), as well as other strategic sectors of Dominican society.
The group of players who received the new ID card is made up of Juan Soto, Fernando Tatis Jr., Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Ketel Marte, Julio Rodríguez, Geraldo Perdomo, Jeremy Peña, Oneil Cruz, Carlos Santana, Agustín Ramírez, Sandy Alcántara, Luis Severino, Carlos Estévez, Camilo Doval, Seranthony Domínguez, Brayan Bello, Junior Caminero, Huáscar Brazobán, Gregory Soto, Abner Uribe, Wandy Peralta, Elvis Alvarado, Amed Rosario, Juan Mejía, Albert Abreu, Emilio Bonifacio, Mel Rojas, Enny Romero and Jimmy Cordero.

It is highlighted that on this day, the new ID card was specially delivered to the major leaguers Manny Machado and Austin Wells, who received for the first time the identity document that certifies them as Dominicans.

Also, Fleming Báez and Ronny Pérez (catchers and bullpen coaches), René Rojas (batting coach) and Jorge Mejía (batting assistant). Also attending were former New York Mets general manager Omar Minaya, and the president of the National Baseball Federation, Juan Núñez, along with other personalities.
The data capture and delivery work for the new ID card was supported technically by the departments of Cedulation, Informatics, Civil Registry, Electoral Registry and Dominican Vote Abroad, as well as the Legal Consultancy, which facilitated the process, fingerprinting and photographing the Major League stars and the staff accompanying the Dominican team.
The activity, which took place at the Intercontinental Hotel in this city, is part of the focused deployment stage of the new format of the identity and electoral card, a mobile deployment that was carried out to avoid unnecessary travel for the athletes, taking advantage of their concentration prior to the world sporting event.
