La Vega.– A man accused of assault and battery voluntarily surrendered to the authorities after being actively sought by members of the Sub-Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM), La Vega Regional.

This is Juan Carlos Rodríguez Capellán, who appeared before the authorities through his legal representative, in compliance with an arrest warrant issued against him by the corresponding judicial authorities. The defendant is required by arrest warrant No. 2025-AJ0084933, issued by the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the Judicial District of La Vega, for alleged violation of Article 309 of the Dominican Penal Code, which punishes physical assaults, to the detriment of the citizen Ángel Julián Castro García.

According to the police report, the incident he is accused of occurred at the Dr. Luis Morillo King Regional Hospital, in this city, where Rodríguez Capellán allegedly physically assaulted a member of the health center’s security personnel. Following his delivery, the detainee was placed in police custody and will be presented before the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes, in accordance with the law.
