Santo Domingo.– The United Hands for Autism Foundation will hold the 3rd International Congress on Educating about Autism with the aim of strengthening the exchange of experiences, good practices and proposals for training and labor inclusion. The entity reported that the topic they will address this year will be “
from diagnosis to Therapeutic Intervention in Adulthood”.
With this activity, they will continue this space for reflection that seeks to generate proposals to address the challenges faced by adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the Dominican Republic.
The congress will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026, in the Auditorium of the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (
UNPHU), from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The event will feature the participation of prominent national and international speakers, including Ángel Reverol, from Venezuela; Iván López, from the United States; and Jonathan Pérez, a national speaker.
In addition, panels will be developed with specialists and representatives from various public and governmental institutions, including CONADIS, SENASA, MINERD, MESCyT, SISALRIL, and the CNSS.
From the educational area, the congress will feature the participation of several universities and foundations that actively work on addressing Autism Spectrum Disorder, strengthening the exchange of experiences, good practices, and proposals for training and labor inclusion.
This meeting is supported by the Dominican Petroleum Refinery, S.A. (REFIDOMSA), through its corporate social responsibility program, channeled through the REFIDOMSA Foundation, and will include an inter-institutional panel on public policies and rights for the inclusion of adults with ASD.
Its president, Odile Villavizar, emphasized that with this initiative, the Manos Unidas por Autismo Foundation reaffirms its commitment to visibility, inclusion, and the construction of concrete actions that contribute to improving the quality of life of adults with autism and their families, as well as the continuity of awareness for this condition that is becoming more frequent in the world.
