San José de Ocoa.- For two days, the Ministry of Public Health held the medical day “More Health and Wellbeing” in the province of San José de Ocoa, where free medical care was provided to 2,007 people, who also received medications and underwent various medical tests.
Through this operation, 883 general medicine and cardio-metabolic consultations were carried out, 287 in dermatology, 270 pediatric consultations, and 237 people received ophthalmological and optometry care.
Similarly, 178 people attended dental consultations, 150 went to gynecology, and 2 received medical attention in urology.
In the framework of the day, a total of 23 vaccines were administered, which corresponded to Diphtheria/Tetanus (DT), Hepatitis B, against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Pneumococcus and Influenza (Flu).
10 vaccines were also administered to animals during the day. 8 canine vaccines and 2 feline vaccines.
In addition, 295 diagnostic tests were performed, of which 86 corresponded to sonographies, 83 to electrocardiograms, 21 to mammograms, and 105 to sonomammographies.
Likewise, the medical staff who participated in the day performed a total of 1,031 laboratory analyses. Among them, the most frequent tests were blood counts, urinalysis, lipid profile and urea with 236 procedures each type.
Also, 41 fasting blood glucose tests, 15 typings, 27 Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) tests, 2 blood donations, and two syphilis (VDRL) analyses were performed.
During the day, supplements were distributed to senior adults, 500 mosquito nets, and 81 baby baskets to pregnant women. Likewise, educational talks were held, 41 protective helmets for motorcyclists, 3 wheelchairs, and 30 baby kits were delivered.
Within the framework of community services, 196 haircuts were also performed for children and adults, and 100 head washes. Likewise, 157 people were included in the National Health Insurance (Senasa) and 11 people went to look for birth certificates.
