Omara Corporán was appointed Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Chicago by Decree No. 573-25, issued by President Luis Abinader on October 20, 2025, according to information published by national media. His appointment is part of the Dominican State’s efforts to strengthen attention to the diaspora, promote efficient and transparent consular management, and strengthen institutional, social, and economic ties with the Dominican community abroad.
