Santiago. – The National Police, the Public Ministry, seized 241 cell phones, 136 screens, 65 tablets, four laptops and other electronic equipment during a raid carried out in a cell phone store in the Hato Mayor sector of Santiago, where a man was also arrested. The operation was carried out by agents of the Department of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM), attached to the Theft and Cell Phone Tracking Investigation Section, along with the Preventive Police and acting prosecutors, in compliance with judicial order No. 2025-AJ0051647. The detainee was identified as Víctor Alfonso Castillo (alias Vitico), 36 years old, who was taken into custody to be brought to justice. In the intervention, nine machines for disassembling electronic equipment, seven smartwatches, 87 new and used chips from different companies, as well as a DVR, were also seized.

Authorities reported that both the accused and the evidence will be made available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Likewise, the Police urged the population not to purchase devices of dubious origin, in order to contribute to the eradication of the illegal trade in mobile equipment that affects citizen security.
