Santo Domingo.- The National Police, in coordination with the Public Ministry, continues investigations to determine the circumstances under which a mother and her son died, whose bodies were found in an advanced state of decomposition inside an apartment located on Rómulo Betancourt Avenue, at the corner of Doctor Defilló, in the Bella Vista sector, National District.
National Police spokesperson Diego Pesqueira reported that investigators are awaiting the results of the autopsies performed by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), while they develop other lines of investigation to establish the cause of the deaths.
Pesqueira explained that the authorities have interviewed around eight people, including direct family members and neighbors of the victims. Likewise, interviews are being conducted with merchants in the area where the mother and her son used to purchase goods, in addition to the collection of security camera footage that may provide relevant information to the case.

The police spokesperson added that, upon entering the apartment, members of the Fire Department had to break down the door, because it was locked.
