Santo Domingo. – The renowned urban artist Randy Nota Loca revealed details of his new stage as a soloist during an exclusive interview granted to De Último Minuto, within the framework of the premiere of the reality show Planeta Alofoke.
The singer, a member of the successful duo Jowell y Randy, explained that he is currently focused on the release of his next solo album, a production that he assured reflects his artistic evolution and musical maturity.
“I’m becoming active again in my solo career. We have to face the new generation and show them who sings those classics,” said the artist, highlighting the importance of reconnecting with the young audience that consumes his music without necessarily identifying him.
Randy indicated that this project will include about 18 songs, with a strong R&B influence, a genre with which he claims he became known in his beginnings. “I think this is one of my best works. It’s more mature, musically it’s delicious”, he affirmed about his new production.
Among the promotional topics, he mentioned “Blackout” alongside Davey, as well as other releases such as “Yesqui” and “Black Jackie Chan”, which are part of the prelude to the album.
The interpreter also valued the impact of his music in the Dominican Republic, where new exponents of dembow have used fragments of his songs in current productions.
“Music is free… you can do whatever you want with it, as long as you do it respectfully and legally,” he maintained, referring to the use of his songs as samples. However, he emphasized the importance of permissions: “A call to the office avoids any problems and shows respect for the artist.”
Regarding his participation in the project led by Santiago Matías, Randy highlighted the close relationship he maintains with the producer.
“I always wanted to be part of their projects… this is a good time because everything is bigger and more solid”, he said, while explaining that his presentation on the program corresponds to his facet as a soloist and not as part of the duo.
The artist also announced that, after his participation in the reality show, he will resume his international agenda with presentations in countries such as Peru, Mexico, Japan and Argentina.
Finally, he expressed his desire to return to the Dominican Republic with his own concert. “I would love to bring my solo show here, with a band, with my romantic songs and all that repertoire,” he concluded.
