Riccie Oriach makes history as the first Dominican in the African Arts and Entertainment Market

Abiyán. – The musician and singer-songwriter Riccie Oriach marked an unprecedented milestone for Dominican culture by participating in the recent edition of the African Arts and Entertainment Market (MASA). With this performance, Oriach establishes himself as the first artist from the Dominican Republic to perform on this stage, considered the largest cultural market on the African continent. This edition of MASA brought together more than 300 international professionals from 72 countries in the cultural sector, as well as prominent managers from Africa. With a program of more than 40 daily artistic presentations, the event is consolidated as a key meeting point for the dissemination and promotion of art at a global level. Oriach’s proposal, brimming with synergy between island folklore and contemporary sounds, was set in the neighborhoods of Yopougon and Koumassi, in Abidjan. Before a diverse audience and the attentive gaze of international curators, the Dominican offered a show full of rhythms and nuances that define his Caribbean identity, achieving an authentic connection with the African root. The artist wore a shirt from the Dominican stylist Miguel Genao’s brand.
