Roberto Ángel Salcedo begins a new phase of “The Power of Good Words” focused on educational centers

Bonao.– The Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, began this Friday at the Educational Center of Bonao the new approach that the initiative “The Power of Good Words” will take in 2026, a stage oriented to the educational field, with emphasis on schools and colleges, particularly in 5th and 6th grade high school students, with the aim of expanding the reach of the message in all the provinces of the country.

During a conversation with final-year students, the official highlighted the importance of promoting respectful, empathetic, and constructive language as part of a cultural transformation strategy, conceived as an invitation to rethink the ways of communication in a context marked by polarization and verbal aggression. With the young Helen Moya, a student from the Bonao Educational Center, acting as the event moderator, Salcedo referred to the principles that underpin the initiative, emphasizing that it does not seek to impose or censor, nor does it have a punitive or commercial nature. His purpose, he explained, is to contribute to “lower the temperature of social language” and rescue the word as a tool for dialogue, understanding, and coexistence.

He also recalled that, since its launch, the proposal has sought to involve various sectors and that, with this shift towards the educational community, the aim is for young people to take an active role as multipliers of the message, both inside and outside the classroom. According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Culture, the initiative is articulated as a cross-cutting component of its institutional agenda, with projection in educational and community spaces, as well as in cultural activities of national scope.
