Considered one of the most prominent figures in neuroscience in the Dominican Republic, Dr. Valenzuela Sosa graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) in 1982, obtaining the Magna Cum Laude honor and the Fernando Alberto Defilló Award as the best student of the Faculty of Health Sciences, with an academic index of 94.46.

Subsequently, he completed his specialization in Neurosurgery in Marseille, France, where he finished five years of rigorous training at the Sainte Marguerite Hospital, affiliated with the University of Aix-Marseille II. During that period, he also obtained various university diplomas in areas such as neuroradiology, neuropsychopharmacology, anesthesia and resuscitation, pathological anatomy, microsurgical research, and critical analysis of scientific articles.

Upon his return to the country in 1988, he began a successful professional career in the public and private sectors, becoming a national benchmark in minimally invasive neurosurgery, through microscopic, endoscopic, stereotactic, and radiosurgery techniques. Likewise, he has developed extensive teaching work at the UASD and the Santo Domingo Institute of Technology (INTEC), contributing to the training of numerous generations of health professionals.
