Santo Domingo. – Last Saturday, September 13th, the terrace of The Box was filled with music, complicity, and good energy to celebrate the first anniversary of El Acusticoro, a project created by the artist Franklin Calderón that was born with the intention of offering a genuine space where singer-songwriters could present their songs bare, either a capella or accompanied only by their guitar.
In this fifth edition, attendees enjoyed an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, with dim lights and voices that shone without embellishment. The night featured performances by Omar Quezada, Paloma Richiez, Gigi Mota and Franklin Calderón himself, who managed to connect in a special way with the audience and reaffirmed the essence of the project: to merge an acoustic concert with an authentic choir night, in good Dominican.
The Acusticoro was born a year ago in the social area of the residence of one of the producers of each meeting, Isabella Domínguez, who is also a partner of Calderón along with Marilú Frías, who is in charge of the visual and scenographic production. Since then it has had the support of Alkifiesta, Resolto Prop House, Jerographic, Malú y CO, and Haus of Content, consolidating itself as a space for exhibition and expansion for artists such as Jesús Guerrero, Lindsay Morales, Ivanna Loyola, Berra, Gaby de los Santos, Sosa Jáquez, Eat the Cake, Constanza Liz, among others.
