They celebrate in Santiago the second edition of the charity tournament “Padel for a Cause 2.0” in favor of children with cancer
Santiago.- With the aim of joining efforts against childhood cancer, this weekend the second edition of the charity tournament “Pádel por Una Causa 2.0” is celebrated in Santiago, an initiative that unites sport, entertainment and solidarity, and which will take place from Friday 6 to Sunday, February 8.
The event, organized by Rafael Aybar, brings together more than 300 players and has the support of more than 200 sponsors, reflecting the commitment of the business sector, especially the construction area, and of society in general with a cause that transcends sports fields.
Aybar highlighted that this second edition consolidates a project that was born as a simple idea, but with a great capacity to generate social impact.
He recalled that the first delivery was a success in fundraising and participation, which motivated the addition of wills and the repetition of the experience. “I knew we could do something different, contribute our bit and generate hope for many children and their families,” he expressed.
The organizer highlighted that the tournament is conceived as a family and supportive event, in which friends, sponsors, and volunteers come together with a common purpose. “At the end of Sunday we can say how much we managed to raise thanks to the support of so many people committed to this cause“, he added.
For his part, Pantaleón Salcedo valued the initiative and the effort of the organizing team, as well as the integration of Santiago and Santo Domingo in the same solidarity project. He stressed that the construction sector – engineers, contractors and promoters – has actively joined to support institutions that work directly with children suffering from cancer, many of them from vulnerable communities and without resources to pay for medical treatments.
