Santo Domingo. – According to the Dominican Republic’s Meteorology Institute (INDOMET), the atmospheric pattern of the Dominican territory will remain dominated by the interaction of an anticyclonic system with the arrival of Saharan dust particles. Both will be limiting significant cloud formations and important rainfall accumulations, prevailing in most of the provinces, a sunny, partly cloudy and grayish sky. Despite these good weather conditions, the presence of some local showers towards the mountain systems is not ruled out, due to the influence of the southeast wind and local effects (daytime heating and orographic). Tomorrow, Friday, the wind will begin to change and will prevail from the east/northeast, as a result of the approach of the active tropical wave that is currently located hundreds of kilometers east of the Leeward Islands, Lesser Antilles. It will be providing humidity and instability that will give rise to cloud increases with scattered showers, thunderstorms and possible wind gusts, especially during the afternoon until the early hours of the night, towards the northeast, southeast, northwest and Central Mountain Range regions. Temperatures will remain quite hot, due to the southeast wind, the time of year and a moderate concentration of Saharan dust. For this reason, it is important to stay hydrated, wear light-colored clothing and not be directly exposed without proper protection to solar radiation, especially during the period of greatest insolation (11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).

Actividad ciclónica en la cuenca del Atlántico, Mar Caribe y Golfo de México o América:
Two areas of disorganized showers and thunderstorms are being monitored, associated with tropical waves. The first, hundreds of kilometers east of the Leeward Islands, Lesser Antilles, has a low probability (30%) of cyclonic formation for 2 days, while for the next 7 days it is 70%. The second is located west/southwest of the Cape Verde coasts, has a moderate probability of 40% cyclonic formation in 48 hours, as well as in the next 7 days.
