A newborn baby and a 2-year-old child were rescued alive by Nepal’s police and army as emergency teams continued searching for survivors following the devastating flash floods that swept through communities near the Nepal-China border.
The disaster has left at least 359 people dead, while more than 900 remain missing, according to the latest figures provided in reports on the catastrophe.
Rescue teams have been working through mud and debris to reach people trapped by the massive surge of water, rocks and ice. Among those rescued was an elderly woman who was found buried in mud and brought to safety.
