President Zelensky stated this Saturday that he considers it “feasible” to reach a peace agreement in the coming days to end the war with Russia, amid active negotiations with the United States. As explained, the Ukrainian delegation is already in the United States to resume talks based on the points previously discussed in Geneva, with the aim of achieving a “dignified end” to the conflict. Zelensky highlighted the “constructive” approach of the American side and expressed his hope that in the coming days the necessary steps to achieve a ceasefire will be defined. At the same time, the leader lamented the recent Russian attacks against Ukrainian electrical infrastructure and warned that, although Ukrainian forces have intercepted missiles and drones —including “Shahed” drones—, the risk persists. In that context, he urged his international allies to reinforce the country’s air defense. Zelensky concluded by calling on the international community to collaborate and reiterated his commitment to a “dignified peace” that respects Ukrainian sovereignty.
