A room involved in machete death delivered in El Almirante

Santo Domingo.- A fourth person involved in the machete death of a man in the El Almirante Caña sector, Santo Domingo Este municipality, surrendered on the afternoon of Sunday, February 8, at the National Police headquarters, the law enforcement institution reported.

This is Christofer Esmarlin Quezada Castillo, 21 years old, who voluntarily presented himself at 4:37 in the afternoon to the National Police Palace, accompanied by a Human Rights commission. The delivery, headed by Mr. Ygnacio Quezada de la Cruz, along with lawyer Marlyn Antonia Rodríguez Díaz, took place 24 hours after three other alleged accomplices appeared separately before the authorities, also through representatives of Human Rights. These were identified as José Luis Jiménez Acosta (a) “El Pote”, 29 years old; José Ángel Terrero (a) “Amarillo”, 20, and Rancier Sánchez Adames, 19 years old.

According to the preliminary report, the victim was identified as Alexis Castillo, 37 years old, who lost his life due to stab wounds during a social conflict that occurred on Thursday, the 5th of this month in the aforementioned sector. The event was captured on video, material that went viral on social media and digital media, which generated widespread public attention and contributed to the location and subsequent surrender of those involved. All detainees will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes, while investigations into the case continue.
