Santo Domingo. – Banco de Reservas reaffirmed its commitment to education and the environment by supporting the second edition of the campaign
“Plastics for School Supplies”, a program that promotes the recycling of plastics and their exchange for backpacks, notebooks and educational materials for children and young people.
During the delivery day held this Sunday, the Senior Executive Vice President of Administration of Banreservas, Alieska Díaz, expressed the satisfaction of the financial institution for being part of a project that combines two fundamental axes: academic training and environmental preservation.
“We are happy to support causes like these, which contribute so much to education and environmental care,” said Díaz, while highlighting that Banreservas maintains responsible and sustainable social investment as a priority.
The initiative, driven by the Mayor’s Office of the National District and private sector allies, seeks to encourage families to collect and deliver plastic bottles for recycling, receiving school supplies in return on the eve of the start of the academic year.
With this action, Banreservas strengthens its role as an agent of social change, by integrating into programs that promote ecological awareness and the reduction of plastic waste, while also contributing to the economy of Dominican households at a key stage for students.
The program “Plásticos por Útiles Escolares” has established itself as one of the most innovative community initiatives, as it not only combats environmental pollution, but also becomes a relief for thousands of families who each year face significant expenses in the purchase of school supplies.
Díaz pointed out that Banreservas will continue to support similar projects that reinforce education, sustainable development, and social welfare:
“The future of our nation depends on children and young people, and we are committed to giving them tools that strengthen their learning and, at the same time, teach them the value of protecting the planet.”
The campaign, which has the active participation of citizens, authorities, and companies, reflects the joint effort of different sectors to transform the culture of consumption and disposal in the Dominican Republic.
