Santiago.- The death of Sugeldy Arias, 47, whose body was found this Wednesday in a ravine in the Nueva Luz sector, in Rafey, has left the community and her relatives dismayed, as they demand a thorough investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident and find those responsible.
Elizabeth Toribio, the victim’s daughter, asked the authorities that the case not go unpunished and that all investigative procedures be exhausted before pointing out culprits, after the deceased’s husband was taken in for investigation purposes.
According to preliminary information, Arias was found lifeless and showed signs of violence. Relatives indicated that the body was unclothed and had apparent blows to the head, while authorities continue their investigation to determine the exact causes of her death.
“The only thing I want is for justice to be served and for them to find the person responsible. I want them to investigate thoroughly, check the security cameras of nearby houses, and ensure this case doesn’t end up like many others,” expressed Toribio.

The young woman defended her father’s conduct, who is currently being questioned by investigative agencies, asserting that he maintained a stable relationship with the victim and had never been involved in episodes of violence.

“The whole neighborhood knows he is a hardworking man, a mechanic, quiet, and that he never raised a hand to my mom. I don’t believe he has anything to do with this, but I understand that the authorities must investigate,” he stated.
According to the report, the family began searching for Sugeldy Arias the previous night, after she did not return to her home. Hours later, they received a call alerting them to the discovery of a body in the area, which was later confirmed to be the woman.
Neighbors described Arias as a person appreciated by the community, which has generated deep shock among residents of Nueva Luz and nearby sectors.
