Santo Domingo.– The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, ERD., led a work day this Thursday at the Dominican Republic Air Force (FARD), with the aim of knowing firsthand the projects in execution, strengthening operational capabilities and following up on the modernization plans of this military institution.
Upon his arrival at the San Isidro Air Base, he highlighted the dedication, discipline, and commitment of the men and women of the air, underscoring the significance of their work in the defense and security of the national airspace. In that same setting, he announced the start of renovation works aimed at improving the working conditions of the personnel serving at the air base.
During the day, the General Staff of the Dominican Air Force (FARD) presented the minister with a detailed report on the strategic projects under development, the current state of the aircraft, and the initiatives aimed at strengthening the response capacity and technological modernization of this military branch.

The agenda also included a capabilities display, in which combat and rescue squadrons performed aerial maneuvers, demonstrating the high level of preparation, skill, and readiness of the specialized units of the Air Force.
During the visit, the general commander of the Dominican Air Force (FARD), Major General Pilot Floreal Tarcicio Suárez Martínez, presented Minister Fernández Onofre with a recognition on behalf of the entire institution, as a token of gratitude for the support provided to the development, strengthening, and modernization of the Dominican Republic Air Force.
