Santo Domingo.- The Second Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeals of the National District ordered this Monday the removal of the media from the courtroom where the appeal against the dismissal order issued in favor of Jean Andrés Pumarol Fernández is being heard, who is accused of homicide, which occurred in the Naco district, as well as causing several injuries.

n” “n“We understand that, by virtue of articles 113 to 134 of the Criminal Procedure Code, linked to the issue of human dignity and the right to health, there are very sensitive matters that will be addressed in this hearing,” expressed one of Pumarol’s lawyers.
n” “nThe legal representative further argued that the process stems from an intermediate stage and has not yet reached a trial on the merits, which is why they considered it necessary to protect the rights of both the accused and the victims.
“We understand that, for the purpose of safeguarding the right that assists the accused party and it is also a matter that assists the victims themselves, this hearing must be developed without the participation of the media, in order to protect the rights of the parties,” he maintained.
