Man who raped a pregnant woman in Los Alcarrizos sentenced to 20 years in prison

Santo Domingo.- A court in Santo Domingo Oeste sentenced a man to twenty years in prison for sexually assaulting a pregnant woman, in an event that occurred on February 22, 2025, in the municipality of Los Alcarrizos, the Public Ministry reported this Wednesday.

The accused intercepted the victim, who was 33 weeks pregnant, and her four-year-old daughter, as they were walking around seven o’clock in the evening in front of a cemetery located in the La Piña sector.

Based on the accusation, the aggressor threatened them with a knife and forced the woman to enter the cemetery, where he sexually assaulted her in the presence of the girl. After committing the abuse, the defendant threatened the victim with the weapon, placing it on their abdomen, and stole an electronic tablet. The court ruled that the defendant must serve the sentence at the La Victoria Freedom Deprivation Center (CPL).
