Man arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse against teenager in San José de las Matas

Santo Domingo.- Agents of the National Police, assigned to the detachment of San José de las Matas, in the province of Santiago, arrested a man accused of alleged sexual abuse to the detriment of a teenager. The detainee was identified as José Antonio Estévez Rodríguez, alias “Tonono”, of 56 years, who was actively sought through a warrant, following a complaint filed by the mother of a 17-year-old minor.

According to preliminary information, the event would have occurred on December 24, 2025, when the teenager went out in the company of the now-accused, who allegedly took advantage of the situation to commit the alleged crime. The circumstances of the case are still under investigation by the authorities. Estévez Rodríguez was placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry, for the corresponding legal purposes.
