Among the most relevant achievements, the authorities reported that the country reached zero deaths from dengue in 2025, a result of the national campaign “Let’s Beat Dengue”, which strengthened control actions and community education. Also, the remodeling and construction of 86 hospitals and more than 680 primary care centers were highlighted, which has allowed the expansion of medical service coverage throughout the national territory. Dr. Mario Lama pointed out that more than 300,000 patients have benefited from the HEARTS strategy, a cardiovascular disease prevention and control program recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations (UN). Another of the outstanding advances was the tripling of the coverage of the High-Cost Medications Program, guaranteeing access to treatments for patients with complex health conditions. Similarly, through the “More Health and Wellbeing” initiative, the Ministry has brought medical attention, vaccines, and free medications directly to the most needy communities. Minister Atallah stated that these results reflect a sustained effort to build a more modern and humane healthcare system: “The health of Dominicans is advancing with more technology, more infrastructure, more prevention, and a firm commitment to quality care,” he expressed. With these actions, the Government reaffirms its commitment to strengthen public health services and ensure a better quality of life for all citizens.
