Police capture “Chelito” for shooting a young man and arrest “Walmy La Sensación” for assault in Santiago

Santiago.- Agents of the Regional Sub-Directorate of Criminal Intelligence (DINTEL) of the National Police separately arrested two men accused of criminal acts that occurred in different sectors of this province, one for firearm injuries and the other for alleged robbery.

The first of the detainees is Frailyn José Santos, alias “Chelito” and/or “Chaili,” 26 years old, who was captured through judicial order No. 2026-AJ0015695, identified as the alleged perpetrator of shooting Winton Francisco Pichardo Álvarez, known as “El Guillito,” 24 years old.

According to the police report, the incident occurred on January 11, 2026, in the Mejía sector of the municipality of Navarrete, when the victim was traveling on a scooter with another citizen. In those circumstances, the aggressor, who was driving a jeep, allegedly fired several shots without saying a word, hitting him in the left thigh with an entry and exit wound, presumably due to old personal grudges. Following his arrest, Santos was purged in the Criminal Consultations Police System (SPCC), where he appears with a record dated December 4, 2024. The detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.

Second arrest for alleged robbery

In another incident, the law enforcement institution reported the arrest of Pedro Luis Reynoso Jorge, alias “Walmy La Sensación”, 27 years old, arrested by judicial order No. 2026-AJ0014368, accused of allegedly taking a woman’s cell phone. According to the complaint, the accused allegedly stole an Apple cell phone, iPhone 11 model, black color, when the victim was walking down a street in the Los Reyes sector, in Santiago. The report indicates that the alleged perpetrator was riding a motorcycle and fled after committing the act. The capture was carried out by members of the Property Crimes Investigation Unit, attached to the Jacagua sector detachment, as part of the monitoring and intelligence work carried out following the complaint. Both detainees will be brought before the Public Ministry in the coming hours to determine the corresponding coercive measures, while investigations into the cases continue.
