Vehicle with four undocumented Haitians stopped in Playa Chiquita, Azua

Azua. – Members of the J-2 of the Dominican Republic Army stopped a vehicle in the community of Playa Chiquita, municipality of Las Charcas, a Kia, white, license plate A862424, in which several foreigners were traveling in irregular migratory condition. The car was driven by a Haitian citizen carrying an expired passport, who was accompanied by the Dominican Carlos Eduard Moreta. Both were arrested for transporting three undocumented Haitian citizens, thus totaling four foreigners in an irregular situation. The detainees, along with the vehicle, were transferred to the Fortaleza 19 de Marzo, in Azua, where they were placed under the control of the competent authorities, to be placed at the disposal of the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) and the Public Ministry.
