Giannina Azar will dress the finalists of Miss Universe Latina 2025

With her new collection “Opulence” the Dominican designer will mark a milestone in regional fashion this Wednesday, June 25th, by dressing the 20 finalists of the Miss Universe Latina 2025 contest in a fashion show broadcast live from Bogotá on Telemundo. With a consolidated career and an internationally recognized seal, designer Giannina Azar will represent Dominican fashion on one of the most visible stages on the continent: Miss Universe Latina 2025, to be held this Wednesday, June 25th at 7:00 p.m., in a live broadcast from the city of Bogotá, Colombia, on Telemundo.

Azar has been chosen to dress the 20 finalists of the contest with her new “Opulence” collection, a haute couture proposal that reinterprets baroque luxury with a modern and dazzling vision. This parade, conceived as a visual spectacle within the contest, highlights not only the vibrant aesthetic of the designer, but also the Caribbean talent on the international fashion map. “Opulence” is inspired by the visual exuberance of Marie Antoinette, an icon of 18th-century elegance, and fuses historical drama with contemporary codes. Each piece is an expression of Azar’s meticulous creative universe: structured shapes, noble fabrics, and handmade details bring to life a series of dresses that transform the catwalk into a modern court.

The materials used are silk gazar, mikado, nude mesh and natural silks, and have been carefully selected for their richness and drape, while the handcrafted embroidery with Swarovski crystals and the brushstrokes applied directly onto the fabric reveal an artistic work that is both visual and technical.

“I wanted to create a collection that honored luxury in its maximum expression, without losing the strength of the contemporary. Each dress is designed to empower, to highlight the beauty of our Latin women and their right to shine,” comments Giannina Azar enthusiastically, referring to the creation process of this collection.

This time, the Dominican designer joins the firm By Vizcarra, a renowned Colombian luxury jewelry store, to complete the contestants’ styling. The jewelry house created an exclusive line of majestic accessories inspired by baroque aesthetics, which perfectly complement the drama of the dresses. This collaboration celebrates the richness of Latin American design, strengthening the synergy between fashion and artisanal jewelry on a high-impact media platform.
