Santo Domingo.- The merengue singer Jandy Ventura said that the most outstanding merengue performer in the Dominican Republic today is Manny Cruz, because he believes that he is producing a rhythm that children and young people enjoy.
“If you ask me who is the most important merengue singer in the Dominican Republic, most people would probably be thinking that I would say Fernando Villalona, Rubby Pérez, Los Hermanos Rosario, I tell you none of them, for me the most important, what I consider, is Manny Cruz,” the artist expressed.
During an interview on the program “El Mañanero”, Ventura highlighted that the new generation will grow up listening to merengue because of its productions.

“In my shows, the only children present were my own children; now, at Manny’s concert, there were 300 children,” added Jandy. In his speech, Jandy maintained that the popularization of merengue today on international stages is due to the fact that the artists who have ventured into it have a position within the urban genre, which is why they reach the public they have more quickly.
