“The pain of the loss is immense, but what hurts the most now is the silence. A silence that feels like a second wound, an open wound that dozens of families share,” added the young woman.“Two months have passed since the Jet Set tragedy, and we still have no answers. More than 230 people, including myself, have lost our parents in devastating circumstances. And yet, justice has not been served. No one has come forward, no one has taken responsibility,” said Ana Beatriz.
The tragedy occurred when the stage of the renowned entertainment center collapsed in the middle of a performance, trapping musicians, technicians, and the audience. Among the survivors was Zulinka Pérez, Ana Beatriz’s older sister and a chorus member for Rubby Pérez himself, who at the time recounted how she managed to escape being crushed by centimeters. She has also demanded that responsibility be taken for what happened.
Ana Beatriz concluded her message with an energetic call to the authorities and the public opinion:“Every day without justice is a reminder that our voices are being ignored, that our suffering seems not to matter. We demand truth. We demand justice. And we will not stop raising our voices until every name, every story, every life that was taken from us is heard.”
