SANTO DOMINGO.- This Wednesday, actress Josefina Gallart passed away, mother of actor José Luis Germán, leaving an indelible legacy in theater, television, and national art. The veteran performer, born in 1950 in Santo Domingo, was part of the Teatro de Bellas Artes (today Compañía Nacional de Teatro) and starred in countless productions that marked the local scene.
Gallart shone with memorable performances in plays such as Trébol, La broma del senador, Lysistrata odia la política, Hoy no toca la pianista gorda and Cada oveja con su pareja, establishing himself as one of the most versatile figures on the Dominican stage.
Radio Televisión Dominicana (RTVD) deeply regretted her passing and expressed its solidarity with the family. “We join the pain of Josefina Gallart’s family, a Dominican pride of art, especially a big hug to Luis José Germán, who together with his wife Luly Rocha are part of our RTVD family as talents of the program Luna Llena“, said Iván Ruiz, general director of the television station.
Throughout his career, Gallart also left his mark on the small screen, participating in remembered programs such as Butaca 4, El gordo de la semana, How much is the show worth? and La familia Pérez.
The actress’s body will be exposed this Thursday, October 2nd, starting at 12:30 PM at the Blandino Funeral Home on Abraham Lincoln Avenue. Her burial is scheduled for Friday at 11:30 AM at the Puerta del Cielo cemetery.
