Hundreds of Israeli reservists gathered this Tuesday in Tel Aviv to announce that they will no longer fight in what they consider an “illegal war” that their Government is waging against the Gaza Strip, and that they will also not go to surveillance posts near the Palestinian enclave or Lebanon.
“We are more than 365 (reservists) and we are still adding up. Soldiers who served during the war and have declared that we will not report for duty when we are called again,” said Sergeant Max Kresch, a combat medic who has served in Lebanon and its dividing line, in a speech in English. “We refuse to participate in (Benjamin) Netanyahu’s illegal war, and we consider it a patriotic duty. To refuse and demand accountability from our leaders. We are the same reservists and soldiers who left everything on October 7th (…), it is precisely that sense of duty that drives us to refuse and to raise our voices,” he added.Related News
