José Reyes will be inducted into the Dominican Republic Sports Hall of Fame
Santo Domingo.— José Reyes has been elected to enter the Dominican Sports Hall of Fame. The announcement was made by the Permanent Committee of the Hall of Fame, chaired by Dionisio Guzmán, who confirmed that the former shortstop will be immortalized during the 59th Exaltation Ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, November 16 in the auditorium of the Hall, located in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.

Reyes, affectionately known as “La Melaza”, joins Edwin Encarnación and José Offerman, selected by the chapter of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), thus completing the enrollment of exalted players this year. Along with them, the sports glories Gonzalo Mejía and Beato Miguel Cruz will also be recognized as promoters.
“Reyes, Offerman, and Encarnación represent a golden generation of our baseball, and their induction into the Hall is a deserved recognition of their extraordinary careers,” said Guzmán, who will lead the induction ceremony accompanied by businessman Manuel Estrella, appointed Honorary President of the ceremony.
