Gaza City.- An Israeli bombing of an apartment in the northern city of Gaza killed a journalist who was pregnant and nine members of her family, including four children, this Wednesday, a source from the Ministry of Health informed EFE Gazan.
Israel bombed the home of the al Shaer family today in the Tel al Hawa neighborhood, killing journalist Walaa al Jaabari in an attack in which, according to local sources, the reporter’s four children and her husband, Amjad al Shaer, died.
There are also three other bodies of family members that have not yet been identified because the bodies are charred.
With his death, the number of journalists killed in Gaza rises to 231 since October 2023, according to the count of the Hamas-controlled government, which includes writers, communicators, camera operators or influencers
Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive, more than 59,100 people have died, about half of them women and children, according to the latest data from the Gazan Ministry of Health, controlled by the Hamas government.
The figure does not include those who have died from hunger or malnutrition – at least a hundred, in a crisis that has worsened since last March due to the Israeli blockade on the entry of supplies – nor the thousands of bodies that still remain under tons of rubble.
