Israel says about 136 food packages were airdropped into Gaza on Sunday

Jerusalem.- The Israeli Army said this Sunday that about 136 boxes of food were airdropped to Gaza by the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Germany, and Belgium.
“In the last few hours, six countries airdropped 136 aid packages with food for residents in the south and north of the Gaza Strip,” the army statement said, adding that these operations were coordinated by COGAT, the Israeli body in charge of civil affairs in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Army assures in the statement that “they will continue working to improve the humanitarian response alongside the international community” and insists on “refuting the false accusations of deliberate famine in Gaza”.
The UN agencies warned this week that Gaza faces a serious risk of famine: more than one in three inhabitants go days without eating, and the rest of the nutrition indicators have reached their worst levels since the conflict began.

They also emphasize that “collecting solid data in the current circumstances in Gaza remains very difficult, as health systems, already decimated by almost three years of conflict, are collapsing.” The Ministry of Health of the Palestinian enclave, governed by the Islamist group Hamas, indicated today in a statement that Gaza hospitals recorded yesterday, Saturday, “six deaths from starvation and malnutrition”, all of adults.#Most read
