Real Madrid mourns the passing of “one of the most relevant figures in fashion”

Real Madrid issued a statement this Thursday in which it lamented the death of the Italian Giorgio Armani, “one of the most relevant and emblematic figures in the fashion world throughout history.”

“Real Madrid C. F., its president and its Board of Directors deeply regret the passing of Giorgio Armani, owner of Olimpia Milano since 2008, and one of the most relevant and emblematic figures in the fashion world throughout history,” wrote the club on its website.

“With Giorgio Armani at the helm of the Italian club, Olimpia Milano has won 6 Leagues, 4 Cups, and 5 Italian Supercups,” he continued.

“Real Madrid wants to express its condolences and affection to his family, all his loved ones, his club and all his fans. He has passed away at the age of 91. May he rest in peace,” he completed.

Giorgio Armani, designer and undisputed figure in the fashion world, known as the ‘king’ of Italian fashion, passed away this Thursday at the age of 91 in Milan, accompanied by his family and Leo Dell’Orco, his partner for the last 20 years, his business group reported.
