Monte Plata.– A woman was arrested after being identified as the alleged person responsible for the death of her son, a baby only 24 days old, in an incident that occurred in the La Placeta community, Peralvillo municipality, Monte Plata province.
According to the testimony of a woman identified as Elisabeth, known as “The Servant”, the newborn was found without vital signs inside a home. The witness explained that she went to the scene and, upon approaching the child, noticed that he still retained body heat, but was not responding to stimuli.

So far, the mother’s identity has not been officially revealed. Nor have the precise circumstances under which the baby’s death occurred been reported.
Witness claims baby showed signs of being beaten by mother
Interviewed by journalist Estarling Mateo Félix, “La Sierva” stated that she observed blows and bruises in different areas on the newborn’s body, including the head, arms, abdomen, and genital area.
These statements correspond to the interviewee’s testimony and must be corroborated by the authorities through the corresponding investigations and forensic studies, which will allow for the establishment of the cause and manner of death.
The case remains under investigation, while the competent authorities are expected to provide further details regarding the mother’s arrest and determine the corresponding responsibilities.
