Chilpancingo (Mexico),.- Three women were murdered, including a public official, in addition to a man, in three different incidents in the
Mexican state of Guerrero (south), security sources reported this Monday.
The murder of the municipal official, who was head of the Secretariat of Health of Atlixtac, a municipality located in the Montaña region, identified as
Jessica Macedonio Saldaña.

According to police sources, the official and her assistant (male) were traveling on the federal highway
Chilapa-Tlapa in Guerrero when they were intercepted by armed men who got them out of the vehicle they were traveling in, near the community of Tepozonalco, belonging to the municipality of Chilapa, where they were murdered.
The fact was confirmed by the municipal president,
Guillermo Matías Marrón, on his social media, who demanded clarification of the case and justice, as well as regretting the event and expressing solidarity with the families.
“Atlixtac is a municipality that is committed to peace, social stability, and respect for the rule of law. Therefore, any act that threatens the tranquility of our community must be investigated responsibly and in accordance with the law”, he pointed out.
Another act of violence was recorded in a neighborhood of the port of Acapulco, where according to security reports a woman was shot dead.
The version indicated that armed men pursued the woman until they reached her and attacked her with firearms. Emergency services arrived at the scene, however, she had already died. The victim was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo), where she remains unidentified.
Subsequently, residents of the Renacimiento neighborhood, but now in the city of Chilpancingo, capital of Guerrero, found three black plastic bags containing human remains.
Authorities arrived at the scene and found the dismembered body of a woman, distributed in three bags. The remains were transferred to the Semefo where she remains unidentified.
Before the homicides were known, members of various women’s collectives held a press conference to call for the March 8th march, the date on which International Women’s Day is commemorated.
Women’s organizations have documented 282 women murdered in Guerrero in 2024, of which only 22 cases were classified as femicides.
While last year 133 murders were recorded and only 15 were classified as femicides. So far this year, 11 murders have been counted, with one case classified as femicide, and with those of this Monday, 13 murders would be added so far in 2026.
