Trump announces that the U.S. attacked camps of the terrorist group ISIS in Nigeria

Washington.- The U.S. President, Donald Trump, announced this Thursday that his country launched a “powerful and deadly” attack against camps of the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) in Nigeria that have been attacking “innocent Christians”.

“Tonight, under my direction as Commander-in-Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly attack against the terrorist scum of ISIS in northwestern Nigeria,” Trump posted on his Truth Social network. In the communication, Trump expresses: “I previously warned these terrorists that if they did not stop the massacre of Christians, hell would be unleashed, and tonight it happened.” The bombings, directed by the War Department, were “numerous perfect attacks, as only the United States is capable of doing”, Trump described. The Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, expressed his support for today’s attacks, which required the launch of a dozen Tomahawk missiles from a U.S. Navy ship deployed in the Gulf of Guinea. According to the United States Africa Command (Africom), the attacks against camps of alleged militias affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) caused “multiple” casualties in Sokoto state, near the border with Niger.

“U.S. Africa Command works with regional and Nigerian partners to increase counterterrorism cooperation and efforts against threats to innocent lives,” said General Dagvin Anderson, commander of Africom, in a statement. “The President was clear last month: the killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria (and elsewhere) must end. @DeptofWar Always ready, as ISIS found out tonight, on Christmas. In recent months, the US President’s government has sought to neutralize ISIS operations, which directly attack the Christian community in Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa, and ordered the Pentagon to prepare plans to carry out attacks if Trump orders it. A report by the International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law (Intersociety), reveals that in the first 220 days of 2025, Islamic terrorists have killed about 7,087 Christians and kidnapped another 7,800. “Under my leadership, our country will not allow radical Islamic terrorism to thrive. God bless our Armed Forces and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, including the dead terrorists, of whom there will be many more if they continue their massacre of Christians,” concluded the American president in his Truth Social message.
