Santiago.– The Directorate of Social Assistance for Food and Community brought food and household items this Friday to the families of the La Zanja community, in the municipality of Sabana Iglesia, who were affected after the explosion of a main pipeline of the drinking water system, an incident that caused flooding and severe damage to several homes.

Luz Estrella, explained that the intervention aims to guarantee minimum conditions of well-being to the affected households, including a family that had to move to a rented house due to the damages suffered.
“We are bringing food supplies, stoves, and gas cylinders so that families can prepare their meals, in addition to a complete purchase per household. We are also impacting the entire sector with assistance to the other affected families,” said the official.
During the day, beds, mattresses, stoves, gas tanks, food rations, and other household utensils were delivered as part of the immediate support aimed at mitigating the effects of the incident and facilitating the recovery of residents.
The explosion of the main pipeline left several homes flooded and forced numerous families to temporarily abandon their homes, which prompted a rapid mobilization of social assistance institutions, which maintain a presence in the area while technical work continues to correct the fault.
