U.S. President Donald Trump again claimed Monday that the United States has “100%” control over traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
“As you know, we have controlled the whole Strait of Hormuz. Maybe you’ve heard that, or maybe you haven’t, but we control it 100%,” Trump told reporters at the White House.
However, Trump acknowledged that Iranian forces could still “cause problems”, although he argued that the country’s economic situation limits its ability to do so.
“Can they cause problems? Yes, they can cause problems. But they’re bankrupt. They have no money. Iran is bankrupt, completely,” Trump said.
