Caracas.- The Venezuelan Government seized 14,740 liters of aviation fuel in the state of Falcón (northwest) that was used to transport drugs, the National Anti-Drug Superintendency (SNA) reported this Thursday in a note.
“We have seized 14,000 liters of aviation gasoline and a clandestine airstrip used to assemble the drugs,” reported the Minister of the Interior, Diosdado Cabello, according to the note, who warned: “the money from drug trafficking will not pass through here, they will have to take it out another way.”

Cabello indicated that, in the course of this year, Venezuelan authorities have seized more than 50 tons of drugs and promised to “break records in terms of seizure” of these illicit substances. Last Tuesday, it was reported that Venezuelan authorities detained eight citizens in the waters of the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Falcón (west), in an operation in which more than three tons of marijuana were seized, according to the strategic operational commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Domingo Hernández Lárez. Through his Telegram channel, the military chief detailed that in the seizure, which took place 88 miles from the municipality of Silva, 114 “white-colored” sacks were found containing 3,077 kilograms of the drug. In the operation, added Hernández Lárez, FANB and Police officers also seized a “peñero-type boat of artisanal manufacture”, five outboard motors and the same number of mobile telephony equipment.
