Violence continues to rise in Venezuela, 45 women have been murdered in 2025

So far this year in Venezuela, 49 femicides have been recorded, as reported by the Non-Governmental Organization Utopix, this being an alarming crisis of gender violence in the South American country. Although this figure represents a decrease compared to the same period in 2024, when 61 cases were documented, the situation remains critical and demands urgent action. The Utopix organization, which tracks these crimes using Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques, warns that the figures could be even higher due to the absence of official data. The monitoring is based on reports published in national and regional digital media, specifically in their News sections.

In January, seven femicides were documented, a figure that increased to 19 by the end of February. March was the deadliest month of the quarter, with 15 additional cases, and April added another 15, bringing the total to 49 victims in just four months. Although the number of cases is lower than the previous year, the persistence of these crimes reflects a structural violence that continues to claim the lives of women throughout the country.
