Luis Cifre and Alfredo Najri receive the FIA Americas Awards

Panama City, Panama.- Pilots Luis Cifre Pellerano and Alfredo Najri were awarded at the 13th FIA Americas Awards Gala, held in a central hotel in this city last Saturday, January 31, in the presence of more than 30 pilots and presidents of federations from countries across the American continent.

Cifre in Kartismo and Najri in motorsports received the award for the most outstanding drivers of 2025 from the president of the Dominican Federation of Motorsports (FDA), Mr. Adriano Abreu Sued, who highlighted the performance of the Dominican drivers during the past season. “Undoubtedly, the work done by Luis Cifre winning the Jr. karting category and participating in the FIA Trophy Academy in Europe makes him deserving of such distinction, as well as Alfredito Najri who was crowned champion of the international V8 category in the GT Challenge championship, raised our flag high and it is a pride for us today to see him shine on this stage that honors the best drivers on the American continent during a complete season”, Abreu expressed when approached by the local press. The presentation of the Dominican pilots began with an audiovisual on a giant screen for all those present, reflecting the Dominican identity with landscapes of the island, showcasing its tourist strength and complemented by images of different moments of action of the award-winning pilots in their different areas of competition, to the rhythm of the contagious music of maestro Juan Luis Guerra. All the authorities of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) of the region were present at the event, including Daniel Coen, Vice President of FIA North America, Fabiana Flosi de Ecclestone, Vice President of FIA South America, as well as the host Dante Pescetto, president of NACAM FIA. Cifre was accompanied by his father, Luis Alberto, while Abreu Sued received the trophy on behalf of Najri, the delegation shared with important figures of motorsport including Nelson Piquet jr. The director of communications of the FDA, Aquiles J. Ramírez, was also part of the Dominican representation. During the weekend, the hosts offered a welcome cocktail to the presidents and delegates of the different institutions, getting to know part of the Old Town of the Central American capital, as well as a tour of the Panama Autodrome, a modern infrastructure that houses the different speed sports, coinciding with the classifications of a local circuit event. The opportunity was seized to converse with different regional leaders with the vision of further unifying the area, proposing a technical regulatory integration to consolidate a large training structure in Karting and have a wide participation of drivers in each country, strengthening sports tourism, with development through sports exchange on technical equality, which translates into level growth.
