The Races
The Eagles attacked early:In the first inning, Durán opened with a double and Aderlin Rodríguez followed with a two-run home run.
In the third, Encarnación hit a huge home run for 3-0. Giants scored two in the top of the third, but the Eagles responded immediately in the bottom with a run produced by Aderlin’s groundout. Rojas brought the visitors closer again with a solo home run in the fourth inning, but the home team extended their lead again in the fifth with a double by Berroa, a single by Taveras, and a sacrifice fly by Aderlin. In the sixth, the Aguiluchos added another with double opportunities: hit by Encarnación, walk to Elih Marrero and a run-scoring double by Joyce. The Giants tried to come back with two runs in the eighth to make the game 7-5, but the Eagles sealed the victory in the bottom of the inning with another double by Corey Joyce, a sacrifice by Alfredo Reyes and a deep fly ball by Berroa.
